
Hannah Harniess
Deputy Chief Executive
Hannah is Deputy Chief Executive of Care City and heads its operations and many of its key projects. Hannah drove the process of spinning Care City’s out from NELFT and establishing it as a community interest company.
Most recently, Hannah has been leading Care City’s support to NELHCP’s careers programme. She has also been leading innovative work to prototype an apprenticeship for senior care staff, supporting them to work closely with allied health professionals to support the rehabilitation and recovery of care home residents.
During the Delta wave of the Covid pandemic, Hannah worked on secondment at the Nightingale as its Clinical Programme Director, helping to shape its standard operating procedures and its approach to staff recruitment and development.
A physiotherapist by background, before Care City Programme Director for the DigitalHealth. London Accelerator Programme. In this role, she was responsible for a complex programme of support for high-potential digital health companies to speed their growth. Whilst at the Accelerator, Hannah also worked as Programme Director for Technology at the Health Innovation Network. Hannah holds an MSc in Social Epidemiology from the London School of Economics and also completed a Darzi Fellowship 2015-16, from which she obtained a PG Cert in Leadership in Health from the University of Leeds.
